The Muni Arts Centre is a beautiful converted church, situated in the centre of Pontypridd. Its programme of events and arts includes band nights, music, events for children and young adults, exhibitions, dance, educational events, puppetry, mime, comedy, and productions by community groups. This truly magnificent venue was built in 1913 and funded by the workers of the Park and the Dare Collieries, who generously donated a ‘Penny in the Pound’ from their wages. Today, it is home to the famous Treorchy Male Choir, the Parc & Dare band, and Rhondda Cynon Taff Community Arts. Its programme of events includes music (including rock, jazz, blues and world music), cinema, dance, musical spectaculars, alternative nights, and community organisations’ events.
